You could check out the Rembrandt Remastered exhibition at the Arts Centre, join in Operation Nature at the Botanic Gardens, or head to Christchurch Stadium for some sporting action.
Come to the Botanic Gardens on Sunday between 11am and 3pm and learn how you can nurture nature during Conservation Week. Operation Nature has been organised by the Department of Conservation and Christchurch City Council and features lots of activities you can join in.
Learn about trapping predators in your backyard, meet Woody the Weed and learn about invasive plants in Christchurch, become part of the Backyard Buzz project, play Tuna and Drains and find out how to keep our rivers and streams healthy, and take a guided walk and learn how to do a five-minute bird count.
Operation Nature will be based near the children's playground.
Canterbury takes on Auckland at Christchurch Stadium on Sunday in another round of the Mitre 10 Cup. Tickets start from just $5.50 so round up the kids and head along and support the red and blacks.

Rembrandt Remastered
Get to know one of the greatest artists of all time at Rembrandt Remastered at the Art Centre's Great Hall. The exhibition showcases 57 life-size reproductions of Rembrandt's paintings that have each been digitally remastered to their original condition.
The images, which include The Nightwatch, The Anatomy Lesson and The Jewish Bride, are displayed in chronological order with accompanying text telling the story of the works, as well as stories from Rembrandt's life.
Rembrandt Remastered is only on until 3 October so make sure you don't miss it. Entry prices range from $5 (for children 13 and under) to $10 for adults, with bookings available through the Arts Centre website.
If you're a fan of vinyl records, head along to the Christchurch Record Fair on Saturday. The fair is being held between 11am and 4pm at the Lions Club Hall, 340 Avonhead Road and who knows what musical gems you may find there.
The New Zealand Alpine Garden Society is holding their Spring Flower Show this weekend at the Woolston Club, 43 Hargood Street. The show is open from 1 to 5pm on Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday and will feature alpine plants, woodland plants, rhododendrons and daffodils. General admission is $5, with children under five admitted for free.
One of the world's best loved musicals is being brought to life by the talented team at Showbiz Christchurch. Set against a nation in the throes of revolution, Les Misérables is an epic tale of broken dreams, passion and redemption and has been enthralling audiences across the world for decades. You can see Showbiz Christchurch's production of it at the Isaac Theatre Royal. Tickets are available through Ticketek.
Conservation Week is the perfect time to help plant trees and shrubs in local parks. There is a community planting day at Travis Wetland Reserve on Saturday morning from 10am followed by a ceremony marking the one-millionth tree planted by local charity Trees for Canterbury and a shared barbecue. A Council and Christchurch 350 planting day is at Grampian Reserve on Saturday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm with entry off Grampian Street or Cavendish Road, Casebrook. Bring your own gloves and spades and wear gumboots or sturdy shoes.
