Christchurch City Council’s plans and capital programme for the coming year are set to go to the public for feedback.

Adoption of the Draft Annual Plan by the Mayor and Councillors is scheduled for Tuesday 10 February. An Annual Plan outlines the activities, services and capital projects the Council will deliver, and the rates and revenue that will be required to make it happen. Its main focus is to highlight any key changes from the Long Term Plan 2024–2034.

The Draft Annual Plan proposes an average rates increase of 7.95% across all ratepayers. This would be 7.4% for the average household, which equals an increase of $6.05 a week.

The plan also proposes $597.4 million investment into Council infrastructure and facilities, and $770.4 million spending on the day-to-day service the Council provides.

Once adopted, the Draft Annual Plan will go out for public feedback shortly after.
