  • Easter Bunny Hunt at the Christchurch Gondola

Join us at the Christchurch Gondola on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 April for our annual Easter Bunny Hunt. Kids can collect an Easter Bunny Hunt form from our reception team at the Base Station, find the bunnies and letters hidden around the Summit Station complex, and unscramble the Easter word to exchange their completed form for an Easter treat!
Please note that while the Easter Bunny Hunt is free for children to participate in, standard ticket fees apply for entry to the Christchurch Gondola, 10 Bridle Path Road, Heathcote Valley.

Christchurch Easter Show returns Easter Weekend with rides, food, markets and family fun at Canterbury Agricultural Park!
With attractions for all ages, the Christchurch Easter Show brings together community, entertainment, and Easter celebrations in one lively event designed to create memorable experiences for families and friends. Canterbury Agricultural Park, Curletts Road Wigram from 10:30am to 4:30pm all long weekend.

Our eggciting treasure hunt will begin on Friday 3rd April! Come and join us on the hunt to find our special eggs throughout the market. We’ve created a clue sheet for you that you can collect from the Riverside Collective.
Find all of the eggs and then hand your form into the Riverside Pantry to get a prize and you’ll also be entered into our main Easter Prize Draw. Riverside Market, 96 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch Central, 3 to 6 April - free entry.

2026 Christchurch Walking Festival - Botanic Gardens

The Friends of the Botanic Gardens are offering a guided 90-minute walk at the Botanic Gardens every day of the Walking Festival.

We will leave from outside the Kiosk (just over the bridge from the Armagh Street Gardens car park. This general interest walk around the whole gardens will be led by our highly trained guides from The Friends of the Botanic Gardens. The walks are suitable for:

  • people in wheelchairs or those pushing buggies

  • are of interest to anyone who enjoys gardens

  • people who would like to increase their walking ability in an easy environment

  • who would like to learn more about our Botanic Gardens

The walks will happen whether sunny or raining. Leaving 1:30pm daily from the Botanic Gardens, Rolleston Avenue. It's free to tag along.

  • Hop and Hunt at The Palms

Are you ready for some Easter fun at The Palms? Well, get your hunting skills ready because we’ve got an amazing Easter Egg hunt just for you!

Grab your Easter Egg hunt form and centre map from Customer Service and prepare to embark on an egg-citing adventure. Follow the clues to find 12 eggs located around The Palms. Write down all the letters from the eggs on your entry form to discover our hidden Easter phrase! Once you’ve completed your form, take it back to the Customer Service Desk and receive a FREE Easter egg. But hurry, because these delicious treats are only available while stocks last. So, hop to it and start hunting!

So, gather your friends and family, put on your bunny ears, and get ready for some Easter fun and treats on us. Hop on over and join us for an egg-cellent time! Come to The Palms Shopping Centre, 18 Marshland Road, Shirley, anytime from 9am to 6pm - it's free.

  • School Holiday Fun: Paint an Easter Egg

Drop-in to paint a paper mâché egg with watercolours. Adults need to supervise their children. Pay by entry - $2 per egg.

The eggs are hollow so once dry, you could fill them with yummy treats or tiny creations if you so desire. Enjoy busy days exploring, creating and learning at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre, 2 Worcester Boulevard, Christchurch Central.
