Chile1 has designed an incredible piece of work with the help of New Brighton Project and need your help to paint it! Come along to 105 Brighton Mall from 10am Saturday to get involved in this community mural.

Share Kai and Kōrero Riccarton

Come along to this Share Kai and Kōrero evening to connect with others over tasty food and share in the cultures and cuisines of communities that call Ōtautahi home. Try beloved and traditional kai from a range of diverse communities including Pakistani, Nepali, Afghan and Eritrean cuisines.

Not only is tasty, healthy kai on the menu, but there's also the invitation to have a chat with others around the table. Head down to the Riccarton Baptist Church at 80 Rattray Street from 6pm Friday.

Trap Trackers - Predator Control with Styx Living Laboratory

This week Envirokids are teaming up with Styx Living Laboratory to discover which predators are bugging our bugs.

Come along to the Christchurch Botanic Gardens at 10am Saturday for a wild and hands-on adventure where kids become nature detectives, learning all about sneaky predators that threaten our bees and native wildlife, and how we can help protect our environment using clever traps.

Heritage Stargazing

Experience stargazing from the restored Observatory Tower at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre on Friday evening.

View the Southern Sky through the Victorian-era Townsend Teece Telescope, under the guidance of Townsend astronomers from the University of Canterbury. Join a tour of a heritage observatory and a short stargazing experience in the heart of the city. Please note sessions cost $5 - $10.

Free Repair Cafe

Do you have a toaster that's lost its spark? Is your bicycle gathering dust in the garage? Don't toss them out just yet! Come along to the May Repair Café, where your ageing or broken items will be given a new life. This project has a group of skilled volunteers on hand to help repair a variety of items, from bikes to electronics, clothing to household appliances, and more. 

The Repair Cafe will be on at ReDiscover Education Centre, 183 Burnham School Road, from 10am - 1pm Saturday.
