Join us at Tūranga for a vibrant celebration of Diwali: The Festival of Lights this Saturday. Experience the rich culture of India through a variety of performances representing different regions, followed by an engaging craft activity for children.
All family are welcome, this event is free, no bookings required, and will be on from 11am – 2pm.
The Richmond Spring Fair is back this Saturday, from 10am to 2pm. The fair stretches from the Riverlution on Vogel Street, through the Richmond Community Garden and playground, and all the way to Avebury House on Evelyn Couzins Avenue.

On Saturday, celebrate 140 years of Avebury House, learn about the Historic Meadowbank, visit the nineteenth-century St Pauls Church, explore the Old Stone House, take a special 30th anniversary tram ride, find where your ancestors lived, experience model yacht sailing, and more!
On Sunday, join in some at the Arts Centre’s Heritage Fun Zone, take a tour of the Ngaio Marsh House, hear stories about the Observatory Tower, visit an open day at the historic St Davids Church, discover the history of the Malvern Hills, and more!

Come along to a public planting day at Lake Kate Sheppard this Saturday with Trees for Canterbury, the Travis Wetland Trust and Christchurch City Council Regional Park Rangers. There will be a public planting of over 1000 native plants to continue work in the Totara-Matai forest planting area.
The planting event will be on from 10am - 12.30pm. Bring along family, friends and a spade. Please bring gloves and wear gumboots if possible. There will be a BBQ for volunteers after the event, and portable toilets on site.
The Governors Bay Fete is back for 2025 and will be on at the Allandale Domain again this year on Sunday.
Enjoy some entertainment with live music and games for the kids, plant and garden club stalls, locally made crafts and pottery, coffee and food. The Fete will be on from 11am – 3pm.
