Ōtautahi Festival of Archaeology

Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga and Christchurch Archaeology project are hosting the new Ōtautahi Festival of Archaeology on Saturday 10 May from 11am-3pm at Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House to mark New Zealand Archaeology Week.

Bring along any questions for archaeologists about what they do, the things they mind, and any questions about archaeology as a career. There will be events throughout the day including meeting working archaeologists, excavation, checking out artefacts on display, story times and badge making.

Revamp Vintage Market: Mother’s Day event

Pop down to Christchurch’s largest indoor market at the Air Force Museum this Mother’s Day. The Revamp Vintage Market is on from 10am – 3pm Sunday at 45 Harvard Ave with a selection of stalls from a variety of vintage stores, dealers, traders and one-off sellers.

The market has antiques, collectables, upcycled furniture, clothing, books, china, silver and more. Come for a rummage and find your treasure.

The Palms Mother's Day Market

The Palms Mother’s Day Market is on at The Palms Shopping Centre this Saturday from 9am – 6pm. Plan a fun day out with the mum in your life, or stop in to grab her a gift (or something for yourself).

There will be free goodie bags for the first 50 shoppers who spend $100 or more, plus DIY kids’ card and gift wrapping station, face painting and more.

Christchurch Game Showcase 3.0

Celebrate some of New Zealand’s amazing tabletop game designers at the third Christchurch Game Showcase this Sunday. Experience the best local tabletop game design, meet the creative minds behind them, and be in to win prizes.

There will be a huge range of games and accessories for sale on the day with some discounted up to 25%. Come along to The Crafter Coffee Company at 121 Blenheim Road from 11am – 5pm Sunday to check it out. Please note a $5 entry fee applies.

Canterbury Cellists Concert

Hear seven cellists playing music such as The Radetzky March, Sleeping Beauty Waltz and Somewhere Over the Rainbow at the Canterbury Cellists Concert. Enjoy a relaxed concert featuring classical, tango and pop music.

The concert will be on from 11am – midday Saturday at Shirley Library, 36 Marshland Road.
