Come along to the Woolston Gala 2024 at Woolston Park this Saturday. Get involved in free whānau-friendly activities include Pedalmania, an inflatable boxing ring and an inflatable obstacle course.
The event will be opened by tamariki from Te Waka Unua school’s kapa haka group, followed by Woolston Concert Brass and Woolston Junior Band performing on the day. Take a look at market stalls with a range of arts and crafts, plants and seedlings and food vendors. The market will be on from midday to 3pm.
Head down to Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre on Sunday for a day filled with dancing, performances, and cultural celebrations. Immerse yourself in the rich Latin culture at the Latin Street Festival with music, dance and colour.
Enjoy street food, Latin cocktails, live music, Latin live DJ and performances. The Latin Street Festival will be underway from 1 – 6pm, koha donation.
Explore the ancient tradition of Chinese culture, art, performance and craft at a free Chinese Kung Fu and Tai Chi gala. This event is a celebration of martial arts, with a special focus on Shaolin Kung Fu, known for its rich history and cultural significance.
The event aims to bring cultural education and appreciation by introducing martial arts enthusiasts, practitioners and the general public. Come along to the Christchurch Town Hall from 3 – 9pm Saturday.
Come along and celebrate all that’s Dutch at the Monthly Dutch Market. Enjoy games, free books, Dutch events and passport information, while enjoying a variety of Dutch food including haring, erwten soup, Ogees Coffee Car, fresh homemade appeltaart met slagroom and cheeses.
After the market, Dutch lessons are provided for koha entry. The market will be held at the Netherlands Society Cultural Centre at 637 Marshland Road from 10am – 12.30pm Sunday.
