The boil water notice affecting Little River’s water supply zone has been lifted.
This decision comes after the initial boil water notice was placed due to floodwaters affecting a significant area across Little River. At that stage Council staff were unable to check the network to confirm everything was working as it should.
The notice being lifted means residents in Little River, that are connected to the Council supply, no longer need to boil water.
The notice was put in place on Tuesday due to the impact of the flooding, but no contamination has been confirmed during that time. Staff have also inspected the wider network and have confirmed the water supply system was functioning as it should during the event.
It was a precautionary notice, as the Council could not guarantee water quality and issued the notice to protect public health.
Council will continue to test the water supply and if anything of concern is seen we will advise residents as quickly as possible.
